During the last 10 years we have donated money and time to the following:
Michigan Hydro-Relicensing Coalition - $12,000 to mitigate the impact of dams, run of the river, removal, bottom discharge, etc.
Canoe impact on fish - $3,200 to evaluate impact of canoe traffic on trout behavior and turbidity
Friend of the Cedar River - $3,500 to help fight dewater-ing and contamination on the Red Cedar
Forest dunes water study - $6,500 to research the impact of golf course and lakes and housing on south Branch aquifer
North Central Community Foundation - $2,000 to help with stream improvement projects
Benthic Drift Study - Graduate Student - $4,800 to evaluate the impact of canoe traffic on benthic drift
Sheriff’s River Patrol - $7,500 to patrol river for violations and rowdy behavior by river users
Stream restoration on all three branches - $88,640 - direct work related to erosion and improving trout habitat (large woody debris)
George Griffiths Foundation - $7,500 to study on town of Grayling storm water runoff
Antrim lawsuit - $13,700 to mitigate the impact of Antrim gas well exploration
Telemetry study - $10,000 to study large brown trout behavior and movement year round
Canoe and expenses to the DNR for river patrol - $1,000 - bought canoe for conservation officers to access the whole river
Annual River Cleanup - $1,800 for supplies for trash cleanup of all three branches
Headwaters Land Conservancy - $10,000 for instream projects
Cedar Tree Planting - $500 to plant young cedars along the banks
American Rivers - $750 to help maintain rivers nationwide
