By Jo Northrup
Stubbly and dusted with snow
the cornfield is dotted with geese.
Like stout little men
with their hands in their pockets,
The whitevested Canadas lean back,
Stroll and take the winter sun.
Gabbling drowsily across the rows.
Safe from the hunter's gun,
They seem to know
It's Sunday.
