Public Comment Meeting - July 10 - Grayling - Proposed Oil Drilling - South Branch, Au Sable River

Please try to attend this important meeting.

Bruce Patterson, Chair State Senate Committee on Tech and Energy will receive public comment on the proposed Mason Tract gas well.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, July 10th, 2:30-4:00 at the Grayling Township Office conference room.

The proposed exploratory well, is located one half mile off the banks of the famous South Branch of the Au Sable River in Crawford County.

The drilling rig would be located directly behind the "Mason Chapel", an open air anglers church. This historical shrine was built in 1960 honoring George Mason for his tremendous gift to the state in 1955, which has become one of the most treasured recreational spots in northern lower Michigan.

The best description to date might of been made by Representative Matt Gillard (D-Alpena). "It's like drilling for oil next to the Sistine Chapel!"
